There  birthplace of  Leonardo  is a building located in the locality  Anchiano , 3 km from  Vinci , within a hilly landscape remained similar to what  Leonardo da Vinci  he contemplated since childhood; it is connected to the city by the Strada Verde, an ancient path that from Vinci winds through the hills and centuries-old olive groves of  Montalbano .
Leonardian Museum

It is one of the largest and most original dedicated collections  Leonardo da Vinci  architect, technologist and engineer and, more generally, to the history of the  Renaissance .

The golf course is an extraordinary 9-hole course among the longest and most demanding in Italy.
Conti Guidi Castle

The castle is known in popular tradition as the "ship's castle" due to its oblong shape and the tower which, together, refer to the shape of a sailboat. In the castle are preserved various frescoed and sculpted coats of arms, memory of the podestà, and the ceramics depicting the Madonna and Child by Giovanni della Robbia work carried out in the year 1523.
Church of the Holy Cross

The church dates back to the 13th century, has been restored several times over the centuries and its current appearance is the result of the works carried out in the years 1925-1935. The interior has three naves divided into spans culminating in two chapels dedicated to Sant'Andrea and the Blessed Sacrament. In the wall of the right side there is the chapel of the Baptistery with the ancient one  source.

WINES

THE WINES

Orlando

HOUSE 1^_Orlando.jpg

Orlando bears the name of one of the 2 founders of the company. It was born more than 50 years ago as a wine for important events that bring the whole family together around the table with the typical dishes of the Tuscan tradition.

Even today it is vinified with the historic vineyards of 1964.

Production area

San Donato, Vinci

Soil

Predominantly clayey hilly terrain on the slopes of Montalbano - South / South-East exposure

Vines

Sangiovese  - Cabernet - Merlot  - The highest vineyards of the company

Collection

The harvest is done manually and the grapes are placed in boxes.

Production methods

Vinification in cement and at controlled temperatures.

The shape of the vats allows to increase the contact surface between must and marc.

Maceration lasts about a month and allows you to extract color, tannins and aromas from the pomace itself. After racking, the wine is aged in French oak barriques for about a year.

Alcohol content  14% Vol.

Service temperature  16 - 18 ° C

Gastronomic combinations

Orlando is a wine of great structure and goes well with the main typical dishes of Tuscan cuisine, grilled meats, roasts, braised meats and game.

Awards

1st place at Rubino Mediceo 2018 - cat. Super Tuscan

Chianti DOCG

Our Chianti Docg certainly best expresses the beauty and culture of the Florentine hills. Here Sangiovese, symbol of a millenary tradition, finds the space to express its full potential, today in a perfect combination with an international grape such as Cabernet Sauvignon.

Production area

San Donato, Vinci

Soil

Predominantly clayey hilly terrain on the slopes of Montalbano - South / South-East exposure

Vines

Sangiovese - Cabernet Sauvignon

Collection

The harvest is done manually.

Production methods

V inification in concrete at controlled temperature.

The vats are deliberately very wide with respect to their height to increase the contact surface between must and marc.

The grapes remain in maceration for 10-15 days depending on the season.

After racking, the wine rests and decants until April, when it is then bottled.

Alcohol content  14% Vol.

Service temperature  16 - 18 ° C

Gastronomic combinations

The Chianti of Casetta I ^ is a wine suitable to accompany all red meat dishes, but also excellent with salami and cheeses typical of the Tuscan tradition.

Primo is the latest fruit created by the Billocci family. It was born from the will of the third generation to pay homage to the first vineyard that the 2 founders of the company planted here in Vinci in 1952.

Production area

San Donato, Vinci

Soil

Clayey and partly sandy hilly terrain - southern exposure

Vines

Sangiovese - Merlot

Collection

The harvest is done manually.

Production methods

The grapes remain in short maceration (about 7-10 days) depending on the season.

Alcohol content  14% Vol.

Service temperature  16 - 18 ° C

Gastronomic combinations

Primo fully reflects the desire to recreate a young, fresh and very drinkable wine, suitable to accompany every day meals. Complete the table also with an attractive and innovative packaging.

Ore 18

In the land where Sangiovese is king, Casetta I ^ wanted to dedicate a bottle of rosé to this vine. Ore 18 comes from a small portion of a vineyard with fresh exposure where the grapes obtained give floral notes to the wine.

Production area

San Donato, Vinci

Soil

Flat land mainly clayey - East exposure

Vines

100% Sangiovese

Collection

The harvest is done manually.

Production methods

After destemming, the grapes are put into the press and subjected to a soft pressing, the must obtained is fermented at about 18 ° C. Fermentation goes on for about 20 days, after which the wine is decanted and prepared for bottling in the first days of March.

Alcohol content  14% Vol.

Service temperature  12 ° C

Gastronomic combinations

Suitable for aperitifs and for all light dishes, even cold based on legumes, where balance and fruity aroma is sought. Excellent accompaniment to all fish dishes, especially baked in the oven.
